A flexible urethroscopy is performed in an outpatient treatment room. It is a diagnostic endoscopic procedure using a thin, flexible cystoscope inserted through the urethral meatus to examine the entire length of the urethra.

It is commonly undertaken to investigate poor urinary flow or suspected urethral stricture. The procedure allows direct visualisation of urethral narrowing, strictures, or other abnormalities such as a tight bladder neck or sphincter dysfunction.
